Asia-Pacific has become one of the important regimes for the research,development and production of lamps and traditional light sources as well as LED solid-state emitter in the world. This workshop is held to provide a beneficial opportunity for the international community of light source engineers and scientists to meet, present and discuss their work on light source research and development. The workshop will be held on the campus of National Central University (NCU), located at northern Taiwan and near the international airport. The workshop will consist of a series of oral sessions and poster sessions. The oral session includes invited and contributed papers. In addition, the workshop will organize a special session on solid-state lighting for its growing impact in the world.

| The International Conference on Technological Advances of Thin Films & Surface Coatings is a biannual event of knowledge exchange and interactive platform for researchers and engineers from industry, research laboratories and academia. Thin Films 2010 is the 5th of this series. Following its success as Thin Films 2002, Thin Films 2004, Thin Films 2006 and Thin Films 2008, Thin Films 2010 will again bring together state-of-the-art developments on all aspects related to the processing, characterization and applications of thin films and surface coatings, but this time in Harbin, China. This is the first time that the Thin Films conference series goes out of Singapore since its inception in 2002.
